I have a Sirio .12 and an RB Concepts V12 engine for my Traxxas Jato. I am looking for starting options for them. I had a starter box but the motors burnt up on it. I am thinking of a drill start or pull start for them. Anyone know if they are smart choices or of better ones?

I also have a Traxxas TRX 2.5 engine for it and the pull start gets stiff when pulling and takes some working to get it back into the chamber to be able to pull again. Is the pull start able to be lubed up or is it trash. I assume there is a spring unit inside that is weak.
I was also looking at the blow up for the engine to see how the spur gear area went together and it doesn't look the same. It shows the large backing plate gear that the starter box would engage it but not the spur gear and housing assembly. I am wondering if the spur gear parts I have that are not showing up on the traxxas blow up page are after market or something.

Any info or help will be appreciated. Yes I am new to nitro's so I am not looking for flames. I admit I know little on Nitro but I want to learn.

I really like the hadheld starters. i was first exposed to them on the sportwerks buggy and it worked awsome. I found back plates to fit the Traxxas motor and used that on my T-Maxx. The one I have is the same as the Losi Spin Start and there are backplates for many different engines availible.

you should get a drill start there expensive but are easier

my HPI MT2 3.0 came with the roto start, and it makes everything so much easier. Instead of a short burts you can turn it for 5 seconds at a time to light it up.
