Decision Made… Time to work

So yesterday I had a big fight with myself. What TLR buggy and truggy to run at an upcoming big race; my new gear or proven machines with a full season on them? I was on the fence till a buddy of mine called and left a message on my phone “Run your proven equipment and bring the new stuff as back-up… duh!” He was right, so now I’ve started to work on cleaning up my stuff. I decided to start with my TLR 8ight T 2.0 truggy which was the dirtiest; I fitted it to my Revolve RC work station and tore into the truck. I pulled the engine and radio tray and was instantly sidetracked to assembling the Gen III radio tray rather than cleaning. Cleaning isn’t much fun, but slapping together a new radio tray is. But the second step in on the tray build, I came to a stop. The screws included to secure the servos are too short if you use the servo grommets. TLR when are you going to include screws with the 8ight kits and even the new radio tray that are long enough to fit? They always seem to be too short! A few extra threads won’t hurt. Luckily the screws from the Gen II tray are a little longer and I used them to secure my Spektrum S6100 servos. The rest of the tray went together without a hitch and now I’m going back to cleaning. Oh great, I wore a white shirt today.

RC Driver Magazine Editor-in-Chief: My radio control hobby started in 1985 with a Tamiya Falcon. The first time I drove the buggy I finished 3rd in the A-Main out of forty-eight drivers; needless to say I was hooked. From then on I competed in a lot of races in many different segments. At sixteen I started my first job at a Hobbytown USA and at seventeen started as a contributing writer for an RC publication. A few years later, I started full-time as a magazine editor while attending college for graphic design. Little did I know down the road I'd be offered a chance to start up a new RC magazine. I jumped at the opportunity and with a talented group of professionals launched RC Driver Magazine. Throughout the years I never lost my passion for RC and spreading the word about this wonderful hobby. I hope you enjoy our magazine and website!
