We have obtained body-off photos of  X Factory Engineer Paul Sinclair’s prototype X – 6 Cubed, and it’s an exciting new design indeed. In recent months X Factory has released photos with the body on, but they have kept the lid on details of the new car while final details of the design were worked out.

As one can see from the photos, the X – 6 Cubed will be an all carbon fiber car in keeping with X Factory’s recently released SCX – 60CF short course and the X – 60CF stadium truck. Spokesman Chazz Sinclair said, “We will be an all-carbon fiber company in about 6 weeks when the Cubed is released. Both the X – 6 Squared and X – 60 will still be available; they are molded chassis cars and there are certain advantages to that. But we believe most customers will prefer the lightweight, narrow carbon fiber cars.”

While the X – 6 Cubed is similar in some ways to the X – 60CF and SCX – 60CF, that basic design has been changed and updated to many buggy-specific changes. Engineer Paul Sinclair explained: “Buggies are lighter and shorter, so you want different charac-
teristics in how they take bumps, jump, and corner. Especially, they must flex differently – we have achieved that in the X – 6 Cubed.”

Several important features of the new X – 6 Cubed:
• Carbon fiber construction.
• New top deck for easily adjustable chassis flex. Adjust both the
amount of flex and where the chassis flexes.
• New slim design for better cornering, performance over bumps.
• Very close to minimum legal weight. Lighter than other buggies.
• Moves rear shock tower forward. This moves the wing forward for
better performance in the air. Many think it looks better too.
• Great carbon fiber and polished aluminum look.
• All new body and medium-downforce wing. Existing high-
downforce wing still fits.
• Retains X Factory’s great 4-Gear transmission.
• Retains the X – 6 Squared’s rear pivot and control arms.
• Uses either saddle or shorty pack; both can be moved forward or
back to change weight distribution.

This AJS Machine Front Bumper Mount is designed to slip inside the chassis frame of the SCX10 and be used with the front bumpers of the Dingo and Honcho. Tough 6061 Aluminum construction with Black Anodize. Greatly increases the rigidity of your chassis and Bumper. Includes all mounting hardware. RDRP team driver Kája Novotny has send us his report from the 1. Mibosport Cup 2013 and his first experience with our new RDRP DEX210PLUS11 chassis.

 “On Sunday (12th May) there was a first Mibosport cup race.  Track changed a little bit compared to the last year, but the surface remained same – astroturf. In the morning, the track was very wet. In the training I watched all 2wd and also some 4wd cars as they slid on the track and coudn’t make any corner fast.

 I put some old tires on my DEX 210 +11mm (RDRP) for the training and thought that I wouldn’t be able to make one clean lap. But the car behaved awesome and didn’t slide at all. For qualifications I put some better tires and finished all rounds with more than one lap ahead the others. Car was behaving like on a dry carpet. It was stable and I had also enough steering. When the track got dry for the finals, I expected that car would have too much grip and would be slower, but we didn’t make any changes. I was surprised – car was stable, but never rolled over and it was much faster than any other 2wd on the track.  

 I really like my DEX 210 +11mm and I look forward for some next driving with it.  Car is much easier to control, but remains fast. “

May 4th, 2013 was the Mid-Atlantic Roar Region 2 – Race 2 hosted by LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA.  J.D. Blair drove his Hot Bodies D8T electric truggy in the A Main 1 where he finished in 5th place and the A Main 2 where he finished in 2nd place.  His overall finish was 3rd place. Congratulations, J.D
