Get Your Gear On

Don’t be haunted by the ghost of gears past. If you are pumping way too much power into your Axial Wraith and manage to blow up gears or you just want the comfort factor of having a high-end geartrain, the pro gear machinists at Robinson Racing have a bunch of new gear offerings for you. First up is a spur gear replacement, RRP offers this precision machined plastic spur that will spin perfectly true. Next, they stepped up their spur gear offering with their popular Gen 3 Slipper and steel spur assembly. The Gen 3 kit comes with a new slipper backplate, heavy duty slipper pad and a steel spur gear with sealed bearing for support. This bolts right in place with the stock gear and comes with the necessary hardware and instructions to do so. Finally RRP offers a hardened steel idler gear and diff gear with aluminum centering insert for the transmission. We did an inspection of these gears and as usual from RRP they appear top notch, we can’t wait to get them in our Wraith and bump up its power!

About Author

RC Driver Magazine Editor-in-Chief: My radio control hobby started in 1985 with a Tamiya Falcon. The first time I drove the buggy I finished 3rd in the A-Main out of forty-eight drivers; needless to say I was hooked. From then on I competed in a lot of races in many different segments. At sixteen I started my first job at a Hobbytown USA and at seventeen started as a contributing writer for an RC publication. A few years later, I started full-time as a magazine editor while attending college for graphic design. Little did I know down the road I'd be offered a chance to start up a new RC magazine. I jumped at the opportunity and with a talented group of professionals launched RC Driver Magazine. Throughout the years I never lost my passion for RC and spreading the word about this wonderful hobby. I hope you enjoy our magazine and website!
