It was a matter of seconds before I tore open the box, shipped the body off to Larry at Kustom RC Graphics while I build and pulled Bag A to get to work.

Up first is getting the servo together. I chose a Spektrum S6040 based on the completion guide on TLR’s website. The components are right from the 22 series of vehicles. Its a little difficult threading the ball cups together on the threaded rod so I reccomend using the old school method of adding a little grease to the threads so the cups screw on easier.

So this is a TLR build, but I have to give props to Brad over at Team Associated for clueing me into this Makita DF010D Cordless Driver. It drastically cuts down build time and the built in clutch prevents overdriving the screw into the plastic.

The chassis with the servo in place and the sideplates on.
