Update 4 – Brushless 5ive-T with R/C Madness BL5 Electric Conversion

At the end of my last post I mentioned that I needed to decide on a set of beadlock rings from Hostile Racing Products to install on my 5ive-T.  Since I’m sticking with the stock body I decided to use the red beadlock rings as they will match the red pin striping on the body.

In addition to looking cool, the red beadlock rings from Hostile are muck more sturdy and beefy than the stock rings, perfect to deal with all the torque of the brushless Castle motor.

In removing the stock beadlock rings I used my trusty power screwdriver.  Without it, removing the stock rings would have taken a very long time.  When installing the new red beadlock rings from Hostile I used the power screwdriver just to start each screw than finished tightening each screw by hand.

When I finished installing each beadlock ring I also installed cool axle caps from Full Force RC.  These axle caps simply push in and keep dirt and out of the axle set screw.
