Update – Helion Animus 18SC

In the newest issue of RC Driver magazine, on shelves RIGHT NOW, I did a bit of a project on my Helion Animus 18SC.  I upgraded the power plant with a Castle Creations Mamba Micro Pro, added a new servo and Spektrum receiver and added a slew of orange anodized aluminum goodies from Helion.  Just the other day, though, a few MORE parts arrived at my door for my Anumus 18SC!  I also received the Aluminum Front Shock set and Aluminum Rear Shock set.

The shocks come filled with oil and if I had to guess I would say it is 30 wt.  I REALLY like that the bottom of the shocks, where the seals are loaded, threads on.  The stock shocks, and similar other aftermarket shocks, feature caps that pop on.  The only problem, is  they pop off too easy.

Installation is VERY easy, in fact, all I needed was a set of needle nose pliers to pop the old shocks off and to press the new shocks on.

Here are the front shocks waiting to be installed.

Here, the front shocks are installed. Note all the other cool orange goodies!!

Here are the rear shocks installed.

It took me less than 5-minutes to install all four shocks and they are so much smoother than the stock units.  Be sure to grab the September issue of RC Driver Magazine to check out all the other cool option parts for the Animus!
