Redcat/ FlySky FS-GT5 2.4GHz Transmitter Review

Although many RTR’s come with some pretty good radio systems in comparison to radios of years past, there is always room for improvement. You may want more adjustability from your radio, more channels to operate accessories or maybe just and LCD screen so you can visually see some of the adjustments your making. Yes, it’s not long before many look for a radio upgrade. If you’re on the hunt for a new transmitter, take a look at the FlySky FS-GT5. Redcat Racing reached out to us to see if we wanted to try this new radio now that they are the North American distributor for FlySky products. The radio looked interesting to us and it’s list of features and functions rather long. So we took them up on their offer so we could show you this radio as we checked it out too. Dean goes over the new radio and gives it a quick test with a few of the cars in his fleet.

  1. Flysky is a very popular in China in which I live in. In fact, you can get its system in Taobao.com for very low prices. Some of these with 2 channels can cost under USA $20. More than 2 channels is always the best as you can add more functionalities to your RC cars. For RC crawling jeep, you might want to add lighting system.
Having a LCD screen is also a good idea for make adjustments on your system.

  2. How do i add telemetry to this model. Do I have to use the ia6b or ia4b receiver instead of the fs bs6 receiver? Please let me know as I can’t find the info anywhere
