RPM Shock Shaft Guards & Orange A-arms for the Traxxas X-Maxx

Following up the release of the RPM Roof Skid Rails for the Traxxas X-Maxx, RPM has just released two more products for the massive Traxxas truck. Here are the RPM Shock Shaft Guards and Orange A-arms for the Traxxas X-Maxx monster truck.

Shock Shaft Guards for the Traxxas X-Maxx

Rocks, dirt and debris striking your shock shafts lead to dents, dings and burrs, which, in turn, lead to torn shock seals. Torn shock seals means leaky shocks and poor shock performance. RPM Shock Shaft Guards shield the shock shaft from those deteriorating elements, prolonging the life of the shock shaft, which improves the long-term performance of the suspension and in turn, prolongs the time between seal replacement and shock rebuilds.

RPM Shock Shaft Guards & Orange A-arms for the Traxxas X-Maxx

RPM Shock Shaft Guards are a simple design, replacing stock shock spring cups with ones that have mounting holes for a thin, but tough shield that rises up to the base of the shock body. The guard completely blocks debris from striking the shock shaft. The back and sides are open, which prevents debris from building inside the guard as well.

The front shield of the guard covers over 100 degrees of frontal exposure! That means rocks thrown from the front tires (or from that guy you’re trying to pass) won’t ever hit your shock shafts. RPM Shock Shaft Guards are zero friction protection devices, meaning our guards never touch the working elements of the shocks.

As an added bonus, RPM increased the length of the tubular spring support of the spring cup by nearly 2mm (5/64”). The added length helps prevent the spring from jumping off of the spring perch when the conditions are less than ideal.

RPM Shock Shaft Guards are sold in pairs and are stock replacement items. Also new to RPM is a new color option – Orange! RPM spent some time trying to formulate a dye that closely color matches the stock orange color found on the new X-Maxx body design. RPM’s result is fantastic and blends seamlessly with the stock orange color scheme. RPM thinks it’ll be a hit, but for those not looking for orange, they’re also offering the Shock Shaft Guards in Blue, Green and everyone’s favorite – Black.

Traxxas X-Maxx Upper & Lower A-arm

The RPM Traxxas X-Maxx Upper & Lower A-arms are not an entirely new release. The big update is that RPM now offers its X-Maxx A-arms molded in Orange as well as Black, Green and Blue.

The RPM X-Maxx A-arms are designed to be the strongest, lightest arms available! Starting with the upper A-arm, RPM used our proven A-arm designs from past successful builds to create an upper support structure sure to handle anything you can throw at it! The lower A-arm has better ground clearance than stock A-arms and has a cross section based off of RPM’s proven 1:5 scale HPI Baja A-arms so you know they’re tough! RPM also created a double support beam on the lower arms to spread impact energy over a larger area, meaning hard hits won’t force you into the “walk of shame”. They’re also universal fit, which means they’ll fit on any corner of your truck! No more worrying which arm fits where.

RPM X-Maxx A-arms are molded in their trademark blend of incredibly tough, engineering grade nylons and made in the USA. RPM X-Maxx arms are backed by their industry-leading limited lifetime warranty against breakage for worry-free performance you can count on!
