ARRMA GORGON 2WD MONSTER TRUCK— PART #ARA3230ST2

OVERVIEW

A great basher that is also affordable, that is the Arrma Gorgon 2WD monster truck. Arrma purpose designed the Gorgon an exceptional all around basher. The simple spine design of the chassis is extremely tough, won’t collect dirt and rocks inside of it and is quite lightweight. Oil-filled shocks are attached to the chassis along with fully independent suspension. Inside of the 2WD drivetrain spins beefy gears that can easily handle a brushless motor upgrade for when the time comes. In stock form, Arrma dropped in their Mega 550 brushed motor that sends power to the massive rubber dBoots Chevron tires supported by tough nylon wheels.

If you are new top RC, the included Spektrum SLT2 2-channel radio systems allows you to learn control skills where it can limit the trucks maximum speed to 50-percent or 75-percent. Once you have mastered those slower speeds, you can turn it to 100-percent to fully tap into everything that the truck has to offer in the performance department. A Spektrum 2-in-1 25A speed control and receiver as well as the high-torque Spektrum S660 steering servo are waterproof so that the action can keep going even when the conditions get wet and sloppy. All you need to get the Gorgon tearing up the dirt is a either a 7-cell NiMH or 2S LiPo battery and a battery charger.

Arguable one of the coolest recent surface offerings from Horizon Hobby is the Losi Promoto-MX motorcycle. It is a massive 1/5-scale realistic dirt bike that works exceptionally well and easy to drive thanks to innovative mechanical and electronic technologies. Losi sells the motorcycle ready-to-run so that you can start throwing dirt roosts as soon as a battery pack is charged. There are also two version available; one that includes a 5000mAh 2S LiPo battery pack and charger and one without those two items. Adding to all that is its unprecedented realism with narrow frame, rider gear and officially licensed graphics.

One of the key features that makes the Promoto-MX so special and an amazing performer is the 2700Kv brushless motor and steel flywheel. AXIAL SCX24 LEXUS GX 470 4X4 ROCK CRAWLER—PART #AXI-1532T2

OVERVIEW

All the scale realism built into the Axial SCX24 Lexus GX 470 4X4 rock crawler is quite impressive. Axial was partially able to achieve this with the use of an extra-durable ABS hard body instead of using polycarbonate. This rigid body makes it possible to mold-in more fine body details as well as provide a solid structure to mount the scale accessories like the roof rack, ladder and fuel cans. Axial took the extra step and made sure this body was officially licensed thus permitting them to add all the badging that would be found on the full-size Lexus GX 470. There is a choice of three factory-finished colors of either white, black or silver which is featured here. Wait…there is still more. Functioning LED lights are mounted in front of the ABS body and front bumper. Mounted on each corner are officially licensed Black Rhino Raid wheels and Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires to make this one well-appointed RC rock crawler.

Underneath the Lexus body is the proven SCX24 chassis equipped with high-quality Spektrum electronics. The adjustable Spektrum SLT2 2.4GHz transmitter allows you to fine-tune steering control to suit your personal preferences and comes with four AA batteries to power it. A Dynamite 88-turn brushed motor is fed by a Spektrum 350mAh LiPo battery to allow for thirty-plus minutes of runtime. The steel chassis frame rails is like what you would see in a full-size truck along with steel used for the front and rear axles and steel dogbones which will give serious strength to this crawler and offer great performance. PRO BOAT JETSTREAM JET BOAT— PART #PRB08051T2

OVERVIEW

For a change of pace and if you want to get off of terra firma, then check out the Pro Boat Jetstream jet boat. This 1/6-scale boat measures 24-inches long and features a jut pump propulsion system that works like a full-size jet boat. It even has a reverse gate that can be activated so that you can back off of a trailer or use it as a quick braking function when out on the water. At its center is a high-performance, water-cooled brushless system that powers the Jetstream so it can tackle the biggest streams and output the muscle needed for maneuvering. Given that the Jetstream was built to negotiate streams which will have rocks and other obstacles, Pro Boat ensured that it was built to bash with a sturdy, rigid ABS main hull with an armor-plated underside and a replaceable aluminum ear ring for the jet pump housing.

Unlike like other RC boats that require a propeller and rudder, the Jetstream is perfectly suited to run on any body of water. Rocky streams or even behind a full size boat, the Jetstream can blast over the wake performing some awesome tricks where other boats could never attempt. Keeping the Jetstream in control is the high-quality Spektrum SLT3 radio and electronics. Upgrades are available for adding even more durability and enjoying full Smart telemetry.
