OVERVIEW

Tamiya welcomes another racing car, this time it is the 1978 Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo paired with Tamiya’s popular TT-02 chassis. In 1978, the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was developed for the DRM (German Racing Championship) by West German racing team Zakspeed. This car featured an extremely low-profile wide body born of intensive wind tunnel testing, and weighed a mere 790kg. A 1,427cc inline-4 DOHC turbo engine was capable of 375-horsepower. This car achieved victory for the first time at the 11th race of the DRM in Nürburgring in October 1978; the next year it got the second position at the first race of the DRM and victory at the second race.
