TAMIYA CR-01 ROCK CRAWLING CHASSIS

The Tamiya CR-01 rock crawling chassis features a distinctive architectural design that sets it apart from standard 1/10-scale trail trucks. As you would expect with a rock crawler, the Tamiya CR-01 trucks utilize a robust shaft-driven 4WD drivetrain. In the front and rear solid axles are metal bevel gear differentials that can run either locked or unlocked.

If you want the most traction possible, you run the diffs locked. Located at the center of the chassis is the included Mabuchi 540 brushed motor that spins a compact planetary gear transmission, which is small enough to enable a lower center of gravity for the CR-01. Out of the box, Tamiya equips the drivetrain with a combination of metal-shielded ball bearings and metal bushings to support rotating components. Receiving power from the drivetrain are four large-diameter tires with aggressive off-road tread that extends onto the sidewalls for extra bite when crawling on rocks. Each tire is wrapped around a functional plastic beadlock wheel featuring a realistic off-road design.

TAMIYA ROCK SOCKER BODY

Unlike other Tamiya CR-01 models that replicate full-scale licensed 4×4 vehicles, the Rock Socker takes a different route, drawing inspiration from modern American off-road competition rigs. Longtime Tamiya fans will instantly recognize the body lines of the Rock Socker: it utilizes the iconic Stadium Blitzer 2WD truck mold, updated for the crawler platform with a fresh color scheme and a dedicated graphics sheet.
