Custom Works Bullet High-Bite Sprint Car Kit

OK dirt-oval guys, hold onto your butts: we got ourselves a new Custom Works machine. It’s based on the Outlaw 5, and as you probably guessed from the name, the Bullet is engineered for high-grip racing. What you probably didn’t guess from the name is that the car is dedicated to the memory of Bob “The Bullet” Light, who took the original Custom Works Enforcer to its first NORRCA title. Respect.

As usual for CW, the car is loaded with premium features and all the adjustability you need to tune for maximum left-turn performance. That includes:

  • New carbon chassis plate with greater offset and toe options
  • New carbon shock towers with shock positions optimized for high-bite racing
  • Laydown transmission with aluminum motor plate
  • New V2 top shaft with Tri-Mount spur hub
  • Front-mount servo location with angled ball cups (for wheel clearance, I assume – Pete)
  • Carbon steering extenders to accommodate wider tires
  • Trailing front spindles
  • New front bumper with mounting options for brass weight.
Now that’s a sharp-looking sprinter. You’ll need to add your own wheels, tires, and electronics.

The Bullet also has all the standard good stuff from the Outlaw 5, of course:

  • Patented Custom Works adjustable-toe rear arms
  • Titanium turnbuckles throughout
  • Full ball bearings
  • 2.6 ball differential
  • CW MDX Big Bore shocks
  • Lightweight cage
  • Eldora Sprint body
  • 7×7 flat wing
  • Large front wing
Like full-size sprinters, the chassis is offset to the left relative to the suspension. (It’s offset right in this view, since the car is facing us)
Here’s the laydown gearbox and aluminum motor plate, and you can also see the aluminum arm mounts. CW notes the mounts now use 3mm screws, which means you use a 2mm driver and leave your 1/16″ wrench in the drawer.
Yep, lookin’ good. The Eldora body and 7X7 wing are included in the kit, and the wing is fully adjustable, of course.

I sure would enjoy watching Greg put one of these together and crush it counter-clockwise, how about you? Until then, check out the entire Custom Works lineup at customworksrc.com.
