Easily Find The Right Pro-Line Aftermarket Body

SPONSORED ARTICLE

Let’s face it—no matter how tough your RTR is, eventually that stock body is going to get road rash, trail scars, and maybe a few battle wounds from questionable landings. Or maybe you’re just tired of looking at the same old paint job every time you pull it out of the pit bag. Either way, a new Pro-Line body is the fastest way to give your RC a whole new personality. Here we will show you how to easily find the right Pro-Line aftermarket body for your ride. The good news? Pro-Line has this down to a science. Between their massive body lineup and their super handy “Pick By Kit” shopping tool, finding the right shell (and the gear to make it fit) is dead simple. Add in a few smart tools and some mounting tricks, and you’ll have your rig looking like it just rolled out of a custom RC paint booth.

“Pick By Kit” Tool

If you’ve never explored Pro-Line’s “Pick By Kit” feature, you’re missing out on one of the quickest ways to shop for upgrades. Located at the bottom-left of the Pro-Line homepage, this tool is your shortcut to finding everything they make for your specific rig—not just bodies, but also wheels, tires, shocks, light bars, and more.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click the “Pick By Kit” link to reach the main landing page.
  2. Choose your vehicle’s manufacturer from the list.
  3. Select your exact model.

For example, pick Arrma, and you’ll see 14 different Arrma models supported (shown above right). Select the Arrma Senton 4×4, and up pops a list of 54 compatible Pro-Line products—everything from 11 different short course truck bodies to all sorts of performance upgrades (see below).

And if your RC isn’t listed? Don’t worry. There are still ways to track down a compatible body.

When in Doubt, Go by Dimensions

When your vehicle isn’t directly listed under “Pick By Kit,” the key is to look for something close in size and scale. Find a similar model on the list, then check the “Specs” tab for its length, width, and wheelbase. These dimensions will tell you if its recommended bodies might also work for your ride.

  • Width and length are your primary measurements.
  • Wheelbase can be flexible—cutting wheel wells slightly forward or back can adapt a body to your chassis.

You can also cheat fitment in clever ways:

  • A narrow body can still work great if you’re swapping to smaller tires or running a different offset.
  • A body that’s a touch wide can be made to fit with wheels that have more offset.
  • Length mismatches can be solved with alternate bumpers or mounts.

And always check shock tower height and body mount positions before you buy—these can be deal-breakers if they interfere with the shell’s fitment.

Pro-Line Extended Body Mounts: Fit What You Want

Pro-Line Extended F/R Body Mounts: Slash 2WD & Stampede 2WD—#PRO637000

Sometimes the stock posts simply don’t line up with your dream shell—especially when the body has unique contours or a low profile. That’s where Pro-Line’s Extended Body Mounts come in. Available in multiple versions (currently eight in the lineup), these mounts can give you extra reach in height or width to make nearly any body fit.

A few examples:

  • Pro-Line Extended F/R Body Mounts: Granite 4×4—#PRO637500
  • Pro-Line Extended F/R Body Mounts: Tenacity SCT/TT Pro—#PRO637400
  • Pro-Line Extended F/R Body Mounts: Slash 2WD & Stampede 2WD—#PRO637000

Installing them may take some creativity—sometimes it’s a bolt-on, sometimes it’s a bit of custom engineering. But once fitted, they open up far more body options for your chassis.

PROTOform Crosshair Magnetic Body Mounting Kit — #PRM603200

Not every RC body arrives crystal clear. Pre-painted shells or those molded in Pro-Line’s Tough-Color or Bash Armor materials can make post hole placement tricky since you can’t see through the body.

The Crosshair Magnetic Body Mounting Kit solves that by using strong magnets to locate your body post positions with pinpoint accuracy. Here’s how it works:

  1. Drop a magnet on each body post.
  2. Set the body on the chassis where you want it.
  3. Place the matching magnets on top of the body where the posts are underneath.
  4. The magnets will “click” into position, showing you exactly where to mark and drill.

Result? Perfectly centered holes every time, no wasted shells.

PROTOform Better Edge System: Sanding Drum — #PRM610300

  • Works with handheld rotary tools.
  • 1.5-inch diameter fits everything from 1/12-scale racers to large-scale off-roaders.
  • Comes pre-assembled with a high-grade silicon carbide sanding band, rubber anti-slip O-rings, and a durable steel mandrel.
  • Even the tool itself looks the part with red-and-black anodizing and laser-etched PROTOform logos.

This is the kind of detail that elevates your build from “nice” to “next level.”
