Instruction manual
Body
The body is where the Bronco RTR EB shines. Licensed by RTR Vehicles and Ford Performance, this truck boasts authentic details from bumper to bumper. It includes a molded grille, realistic light buckets with functioning LEDs in the light bar and tail lights, a roll cage, mud flaps, a fake front winch, and even scale accessories like a rear-mounted fuel cell and fire extinguishers. The molded interior with decals adds depth and realism to the cockpit.
While the scale looks are incredible, there are a few compromises. The body uses standard clips up front, which break immersion slightly, and the roll cage is tied to sway bars and limiting straps, making full removal more involved. Still, the truck’s scale realism and aggressive stance make it one of the best-looking large-scale RC trucks available.
Chassis
The FMS Bronco RTR EB is built on a proven large-scale chassis shared with the Ridge Racer platform. The backbone is a stamped aluminum chassis plate with gray anodizing, supported by bracing throughout and aluminum shock
tower supports. A Lexan dust cover protects the internals from dirt, though the Velcro attachment tends to loosen quickly and could use a stronger mounting solution.
The battery tray is designed for flexibility but can be finicky. It fits dual 2S packs or certain larger 6S packs, but not all batteries fit cleanly. With the right battery setup, however, the chassis layout makes servicing and balancing fairly straightforward.
Suspension
Suspension is where this truck comes alive. The dual-shock-per-corner setup (coilover plus slave shock) provides plush
damping and impressive stability over rough terrain. Adjustable collars allow you to tweak ride height, while heavy-duty trailing arms, stout steering knuckles, and reinforced upper links keep the suspension durable.
Steering links come pre-installed as fixed units, but the box includes turnbuckles for toe adjustability if you prefer customization. One drawback is the soft servo saver, which feels undersized for a truck of this scale. Still, watching the suspension work as the Bronco soaks up bumps, jumps, and berms is one of the highlights of driving this machine.
Drivetrain
The drivetrain is built tough, featuring front, center, and rear differentials with full ball bearings
and steel components. The center differential uses an aluminum diff cup to handle heat, and a steel spur gear ensures durability under power. CV axles up front, a solid rear axle housing, and universal driveshafts give the Bronco plenty of strength for rough terrain.
The differential oils felt on the lighter side during testing, so performance drivers may want to re-tune with heavier oils for better traction balance. Otherwise, the drivetrain is impressively solid and designed to handle the punishment of high-speed off-road bashing.
Electronics
Electronics come straight from Hobbywing, a trusted name in the RC industry. Power comes from a 1600KV 4274 brushless motor paired with a 150A ESC featuring programmable throttle and brake settings. Cooling fans on the ESC keep things in check, though the motor itself lacks an included cooling fan, which would have been a nice addition.
A hefty 60kg metal-gear servo with a metal horn handles steering duties. The receiver claims to be waterproof, but in reality, it’s more splash-resistant, with no gasket sealing. The radio system is functional with trims and adjustments, though the lack of a foam grip on the wheel is a small disappointment.
Performance
The FMS 1:7 Bronco RTR EB Brushless absolutely comes to life on the dirt. On loose surfaces like sand and dirt lots, it rockets forward with authority, and the suspension soaks up bumps and jumps with ease. Stability is impressive for a truck with a solid rear axle, and the included gyro stabilization helps keep the Bronco pointed straight under throttle.
The Nitto Trail Grappler tires dig into dirt and sand aggressively, giving the truck plenty of bite on berms and during climbs. High-speed handling is surprisingly composed, though occasional gear noise was noted after long runs. The truck jumps well, typically landing on its wheels, and feels planted even during aggressive off-camber climbs.
Not everything was perfect. During testing, wires loosened from connectors, the Velcro dust cover came off quickly, and eventually the pinion gear backed out, cutting the run short. These are all issues that can be addressed by checking screws, reinforcing connectors with hot glue or tape, and securing the dust cover more firmly. With a little prep, the Bronco becomes a seriously fun and capable large-scale basher.
Pros and Cons

Licensed Ford Bronco body with incredible scale details
Powerful Hobbywing brushless system (6S capable)
Dual-shock suspension delivers plush, stable handling
Sturdy drivetrain with steel spur and aluminum diff cups
Strong 60kg servo with metal horn
Excellent off-road performance and stability

Loose wiring needs reinforcement
Wrap-Up
The FMS 1:7 Ford Bronco RTR EB Brushless 4WD RS is a bold entry into the large-scale off-road market, and it mostly delivers on its promises. With jaw-dropping scale detail, serious brushless power, and stable desert racing handling, it’s a machine that turns heads and puts a smile on your face. While it requires a few user fixes—securing the dust cover, reinforcing wires, and thread-locking the pinion—none of these issues overshadow the sheer fun this truck provides.
If you’re a fan of Ultra4 rigs, big-scale bashers, or simply want one of the best-looking Ford-licensed RC trucks available, the FMS Bronco RTR EB Brushless is a fantastic choice. With some small tweaks, it transforms from good to great—and it lives up to the Funhaver name.
