The Pro-Line Body Grip Tool is one of those gifts that falls into the category of something you did not realize you needed until you use it. It is the ideal gadget for the painter on your list. The suction cup fitted on the bottom of the tool will securely adhere to the body thus giving you a perfect way to hold onto the body and not risk ruining the paint job. Instead of fumbling with the body as you lay down the paint, the Body Grip Tool allows the painter to hold the body effortlessly and comfortably.

Pro-Line custom machined the handle or grip of the Body Grip Tool from Type 1 PVC so that it would complement the most popular grip styles. You can hold it like a shifter knob so you can easily rotate the body or slide it the ‘stem’ of the tool in-between your fingers. They are available for 1/10- and 1/8-scale vehicles and provide the perfect spot when some work needs to be done on an RC ride or to be displayed. Clearly these stands were inspired by the proven bike stands used in the motocross world. Pro-Line laser cut, bent and powder-coated blue alloy to create the stands. The sides are adorn with a Pro-Line logo while the top is equipped with four holes for shock building. Found at each corner are rubber grommets that will keep a chassis protected from scratches and keep it from sliding around on the stand when work is being done.

Pro-Line Tire Glue—#6031-00

It does not take long for someone who is just starting out in RC to realize that having the right tire glue is crucial to achieving a secure bond between tires and wheels. Tire glue is a great gift, although only if it is a quality glue like Pro-Line’s Tire Glue. Pro-Line set out to not only develop a tire glue that would be as strong as possible, but it also needed to have the correct flow characteristics and drying time that bashers and racers are looking for. Pro-Line states on their website that this tire glue has a “hold strength of 3,200 PSI (Test method: steel on steel in tensile shear) and that is the highest strength tire glue available.” Additionally, this glue dries with the final result of it being crystal clear without whitening or yellowing that is found when using other glues.

The chemical makeup of the glue is just part of the story here. Pro-Line then considered the container and application method. This led to sourcing a super soft and squeezable round bottle that gives you an improved feel when gluing tires and its shape proves to be more stable when resting on a bench compared to elliptical shaped glue bottles. Complementing the bottle is the translucent yellow Pro-Line applicator tips. They are specifically designed to snap onto the bottle for a secure fit, are reusable and have just the right size opening for gluing tires. Each bottle of Pro-Line tire glue includes two of these applicator tips. If you want to have extra on hand, they are available for purchase separately from Pro-Line (Glue Tips #6031-01).

Pro-Line Tire Rubber Bands—#6298-00

Gluing tires is one of those RC tasks that hobbyist don’t typically like to do. You can make the process a bit easier with Pro-Line Tire Rubber Bands. These bands can fit on 1/10-scale buggy, truck and short course tires and even larger 1/8-scale buggy tires. Use these rubber bands to hold the tires against the wheels during the gluing process. Four bands come in one package so you can glue a complete set of tires and they come colored in blue with the Pro-Line logo.

PROTOform Better Edge System: Sanding Block—#6108-00

For the person on your list that takes great pride in their RC bodies and for the ones that struggle with achieving a nicely trimmed out body is the PROTOform Better Edge System: Sanding Block. It is ideal for creating a perfect straight edge as well as smooth out all the nooks and crannies on a RC body. Each Sanding Block is formed from injection molded nylon with a shape that is both ergonomic and racy. Use the straight edge to smooth out scissor imperfections along the bottom edges or rear wing of your body. You can then rotate the block to finish off tightly curved edges such as the rear of your 1/12 or 1/8 on-road bodies, off-road body wheel wells or suspension cutouts. The rounded ends of the block are two different radius sizes for different applications, 1/4- and 1/2-inch. It can also be used to sand parts and even tires.

A form-fitted strip of high-grade, 120-grit sand paper is included and is fastened to the block with a low-profile hook-and-loop system. A spare strip of sand paper comes with the Sanding Block for when you thoroughly use up the first piece of sand paper. After that, replacement strips (#6108-01) are available in 2-packs.

PROTOform Better Edge System: Sanding Drum—#6103-00

Following in the same lines as the Sanding Block, the PROTOform Better Edge System: Sanding Drum (#6103-00) is another great tool for completing a RC car body. It is especially useful to those of us that take pride in finishing off their concourse-worthy body. The Better Edge Sanding Drum is the first product specifically made for RC racers to finish off the perfect wheel-well. Just use a handheld rotary tool and the Better Edge Sanding Drum will smooth out all of the imperfections left from cutting your polycarbonate body with scissors. At 1.5-inches in diameter, it’s suitable for use on many scales of bodies: from 1/12-scale on up to 1/8-scale.
