After some teasing, the new rig from FMS has finally been revealed. Presenting the FMS FCX18 II Ford F-100 RTR rock crawler.

OVERVIEW

Authorized by Ford Motor Company, the FMS model is built on the all-new FCX18 second-generation low center of gravity (LCG) chassis and introduces the classic Ford F-100 in scale form. The Ford F-100 body features a durable hard-shell construction, with FMS meticulously replicating the original vehicle’s proportions and design lines.

The vehicle features a fully molded scale interior, complete with mirrors and steering wheel, integrated with a synchronized lighting control system. Factory-installed headlights, taillights, turn signals, and roof-mounted spotlights are all individually controllable with linked lighting functions. A 2-in-1 brushed motor and ESC system with a selectable switching function allows easy replacement and future upgrades. Hidden wiring within the body and chassis simplifies installation, storage, and customization. Officially licensed BFGoodrich KO3 tires deliver an aggressive appearance while accurately replicating the driving posture and traction characteristics expected of a scale crawler.

In terms of power and handling, the Ford F-100 features a full-time 4WD drivetrain. A high-performance 180 brushed motor is mounted at the front of the chassis to provide strong, consistent power output. The LCG layout combined with the magnetic quick-release body system is a key feature of the second-generation FCX18 platform, improving climbing stability and vehicle posture while reducing rollover risk on technical terrain. Different Painted body shells can be swapped in approximately two seconds, and the magnetic interface automatically supplies power to the body-mounted lighting system, allowing full lighting activation directly from the transmitter.
