These trucks are available with two different bodies with two different racing liveries that are officially licensed. Losi provides a feature-packed Spektrum Smart DX3 radio system to control these off-road beasts and used a powerful brushless motor system that can handle either 2S or 3S LiPo batteries. Drop in the included AA batteries into the transmitter, pick-up a 2S or 3S LiPo battery with battery charger and that is all you need to get either one of these the Losi ready-to-run Baja Rey 2.0 desert trucks rolling.

Must-see Losi RTR off-road trucksLosi first released the Baja Rey back in 2016. It quickly earned raves for its incredible handling, speed, and overall performance. A couple years ago, the Baja Rey got a body update and also significant design improvements underneath. Its platform is still its proven and strong 3mm aluminum chassis plate with 2.5mm upper deck. From there Losi have the Baja Rey 2.0 and updated front gearbox and rear axle designs, improved upper front suspension arms and 4-link bars, an additional dampening shock plus a bunch of other improvements. The updated chassis means that you get the benefit of easier maintenance, more turning ability and even greater robustness. The Baja Rey 2.0 is an even better Baja beast, performing like a champion on all types of desert terrain from trails to sand washes.

Multi-piece bolt-on body panels make up both of the great looking Ford desert truck bodies. The panels attach to an inner roll cage and there is a complete molded interior with driver figures. At the rear you will find two spare tires mounted to the rear of the roll cage and help complete the look of what a true desert race truck would look like. Losi even gave these trucks realistic and functional LED light bars. The front is composed of a seven light pod system and mounted at the rear is a red LED light strip.

Losi LMT 2.0 Solid Axle Monster Trucks

Back in 2020, the Losi LMT solid axle monster truck was introduced and set a very high bar for performance for trucks in this class. Losi is not one to rest on its laurels and recently came out with the LMT 2.0 that raises the performance bar even higher. Like before, there are two version of the LMT available: the Grave Digger and Son-Uva Digger. In the spotlight of the revamped MT and arguably the coolest new addition is the DRIVE system. This stands for Dynamic Response Intelligent Vehicle Envelope which is an innovative Spektrum receiver technology that when in Freestyle Mode it enable the LMT 2.0 to hold wheelies, do stoppies and even “bicycle” on two wheels like you would see performed by full size monster jam trucks. Other new features include the use of eight shocks which is also found on the 1:1 monster jam trucks and since the real trucks don’t have springs on the outside of the shock bodies, neither does the LMT 2.0. To retain scale looks, the springs are now internal and there are molded replica molded reservoirs.

Must-see Losi RTR off-road trucksTwin vertical plates are used as the main support for the LMT 2.0 chassis and is designed to provide all of the performance adjustments needed to tune the truck. On the Grave Digger, they are powder coated in green and blue on the Son-Uva Digger. The axle housing was redesigned with new lower 4-link mounts and larger 6x15x5 pinon bearings that assist in making the drivetrain stronger and more durable. If you look at the two versions of the LMT next to each other you will see that LMT 2.0 has wider offset 2.6” wheels and slightly taller tires.

A Spektrum DX3 radio system controls these monsters while a potent Spektrum Firma Smart 130A ESC with 3668 2800Kv 4-pole brushless motor generates the power to propel them and a Spektrum S680 high torque steel gear servo handles the steering duties.

Losi Tenacity TT Pro Short Course Trucks

Must-see Losi RTR off-road trucksShort Course trucks are so much fun to drive and race and that experience can be even better when stepping up from a 2WD truck to a 4WD truck like the Tenacity TT Pro. Based on the legendary Losi TEN platform, the Tenacity uses a rigid 4mm aluminum plate with independent front and rear suspension, adjustable turnbuckles, swaybars, aluminum shock towers, threaded body oil-filled shocks, and three robust metal gear differentials. Getting the power to the ground is a set of officially licensed Falken Wildpeak MT tires that are wrapped around Method wheels. The Tenacity TT Pro is available in two flavors: the officially licensed Brenthel trophy truck body or the Falken tires body.

In the electronics department you will find all quality Spektrum gear and it is waterproof so you can run the Tenacity TT Pro in all kinds of nasty conditions. Handling the steering is a Spektrum S614, 23T metal gear servo to offer precision and responsiveness to the driver. The muscle that makes this short course a serious threat at the track is a Spektrum Firma 4-pole 3150Kv 550 brushless motor with a Spektrum SMART 130A brushless ESC, a system that can easily handle either 2S or 3S LiPo battery packs. Following suit with many other Losi RTRs, the Spektrum DX3 radio system was called into action. It has advanced features like AVC control, a 3-position throttle limiting switch and travel adjust. And last but not least, Losi bolted on a bright LED light bar that is mounted onto the front bumper.

Losi 8IGHT-XTE Race Truggy, #LOS04020

Out of the must-see Losi RTR off-road trucks listed here, the Losi 8IGHT-XTE is the one purpose- built for competitive racing and taps into the long winning legacy of the Losi name. Being RTR, you gain the benefit of having the 8IGHT-XTE coming out of the box nearly ready to hit the track and not needing a long build session. The Pro-Line OE-Spec cab-forward race body comes clear so that you can lay down your favorite paint scheme.

Additionally Losi spec’d their truggy with race-proven features with the right shock package, the best tire compound and tread and differentials tuned specially to get power down to the ground. Massive 5.5-inch Pro-Line Blockade tires at all four corners allow for optimum speed with the ability of being able to easily tear across rough terrain. Getting the race tires spinning is a race-legal Spektrum 2250Kv sensored brushless motor matched with a Spektrum Firma 130A sensored speed control. Losi then ensured the drivetrain could handle the power from the brushless motor system and rigors of racing by making it all metal and have it rotating on ball bearings.

Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 Desert Trucks

Must-see Losi RTR off-road trucksIf you want to go big, like with a truck measuring nearly three feet long, setup for outstanding high-speed off-road performance and equipped with a powerful brushless motor system, then then the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 should be at the top of your list.

If you want to go big—with a truck nearly three feet long, built for high-speed off-road performance, equipped with a powerful brushless motor system and has realistic scale looks—the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 should be at the top of your list. This 2.0 version starts off with taking the chassis from the Super Rock Rey and pushing the wheelbase an inch longer while also modifying the front end by using the Super Baja Rey. The solid rear axle is supported with long travel 4-link suspension to soak up massive whoops and bumps just like the full size desert race trucks. Then coil-over, oil-filled shocks complete with bump stops can handle hard pack to whoops and small rollers to giant kickers. Tucked inside the chassis is a Spektrum Firma Smart 8S capable 160A waterproof ESC that powers the brushless Spektrum Firma 4-pole 750Kv 550 motor which can send the SBR 2.0 to 50+mph speeds.

A big part of the appeal to the Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0 desert trucks is its realism. A full bodied roll cage is built of offer protection while also enhancing the trucks scale looks. It is integrated with the 4mm anodized aluminum chassis plate providing the ultimate shield for your truck and electronics. Inside of the cage is a molded interior where there is a driver and co-driver donned with racing helmets and harness details. You can also find other scale accents like fire extinguishers, shock reservoirs, fans and a jack. Mounted at the rear of the roll cage are two functional spare tires…a setup like a real desert racer would have. Located in the front grill and on top of the roll cage are brilliant LED lights to illuminate the darkness. At each corner are officially licensed Method Racing beadlock wheels with 17mm hexes and wrapped with officially licensed BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires. Some of these items are relatively small, but they bring together the overall realistic looks of the SBR 2.0.

Losi LMT Mega Trucks

These Losi LMT mega trucks may look like a monster truck, but they are actually a special variant. Depicted here are the King Sling and Bog Hog Losi LMT Mega Trucks that are scale replicas of real Mega Trucks. The full size King Sling is driven by professional monster truck driver Denis Anderson and his son, Weston currently pilots Bog Hog. Both come with pre-painted and detailed officially licensed bodies and officially licensed D&D Paddy tires and wheels. The tire and wheels mimic the full size special tractor tires which allow these giant trucks to tackle mud bogs, make large jumps and plow through harsh terrain. Losi basically combined everything a RC truck enthusiast would want and made the LMT Mega Trucks overpowered, overbuilt and ready to throw some roost of mud.

It is no secret that these trucks are based on the proven Losi LMT chassis which is used on the Losi LMT 2.0 solid axle monster trucks featured earlier in this article. Powder coating gives each vertical chassis plate a standout look and offers superior strength. A metal drivetrain with three metal-geared differentials is tied to a unique CUSH drive technology that will protect the drivetrain like a traditional slipper would—good thing since these trucks can be run on massive 4S power! Speaking of power, Losi dropped in a Spektrum 130A Firma Smart ESC that transmits power to a mighty Spektrum Firma 3668 2800Kv brushless 4-pole motor. The lower Kb and longer motor provide more torque for mudding action. Handling suspension duties are long travel, oil-filled, coil-over shocks with rubber bump stops and are fully sealed and tunable.
