Bodies take a lot of abuse and if you’re hard on your equipment, painting a body each time you destroy one becomes a time consuming and sometimes costly option to get your RC looking good again. Pro-Line saw the need for bodies that are prepainted for just such a scenario or for those who just don’t like to paint period. They offer tough color bodies that are actually molded in a pre-colored Lexan. We’ve seen their Black Tough Color Bodies before and now they have Stone Grey. The bodies come with a set of decals and require you to trim it before use. Here we’re going to show you just how easy it is to drop a Stone Grey C-10 body onto a Traxxas Stampede 4×4.
Stone Grey 1972 Chevy C-10 body
By: Pro-Line Racing
Part Number: PRO325114
Type: Truck Body
Needed To Finish: Scissors, Drill
Trim The Body
Using Lexan scissors or a hobby knife, trim the excess material from the bottom of the body and fender wells.
Get Ready For Decals
Pull off the protective plastic coating.
Cut out your decals.
Apply decals. Note, some are just for style and can be placed wherever you desire.
Drill Body Mount Holes
Using a reamer or appropriate size drill bit, open up the holes in the body where the dimple marks are to fit a Traxxas Stampede. If you are custom fitting this to another RC, we suggest locating the proper points to drill holes for your specific vehicles body mounts.
Drop the body on your truck and you’re back in business. Here we’ve dropped the C-10 body directly onto the stock Traxxas body mounts. Pro-Line offers optional adjustable mounts if you would like to reposition the body for a better look. But for bashing, we’re happy with the body as is and can’t wait to go tear up some dirt!
