If you just sit back and take a good look at the RC hobby, it’s amazing how many vehicles are offered and then backed up by a seemingly infinite number of option parts. Traxxas is a company with a large selection of vehicle offerings and the majority of those are supported by after market manufacturers. With so much going on around the TRX offerings, it’s no wonder that Traxxas vehicles are often selected to build projects with.

The Slash has seen quite a few years of service, with Traxxas introducing something new with each release. It’s progressed from a pretty basic 2WD Short Course truck to something with 4WD, a Low-CG chassis, waterproof electronics, stickier tires and even a rockin’ sound system.

Hey Tony- I am looking to get back into RC driving. I started out with a Duratrax Evader that I ended up putting another stock motor and a larger pinion gear so I could slow it down and learn how to drive it more.

In RC Short Course Driver Volume 2, I had the opportunity to compare a stock Traxxas Slash against a fully-modified, race-prepped Slash. As you would expect, while the stock Slash put down some pretty good laps, the modified version was quite a bit faster around our test track.
